Injecting some grit into electronic music . . .

These are some new songs and some old songs, performed and recorded live as one big set. The sound is generated with Ableton Live, sampling outside material including new analog synth gear in which I've recently invested, and processed with a series of outboard effect processors.

"Rough Cuts Vol.1" is the antithesis of my usual way of recording, which usually involves hours of squinting at my laptop screen and fiddling with Ableton Live automation envelopes. All sound you're hearing on these tracks was ripped through in one take, pushed through a $2 headphone splitter past a monitor amp and into the audio in of an old laptop with a broken screen. The sound was eventually squashed and amplified in Audacity. Bits were improvised, mistakes were left in. This was meant to be a more organic approach which gives you an idea of what a Yateveo live set sounds like, and also a preview of some songs I haven't quite finished yet.
